Rosemarie Gesell, fue la última hija en vida de Carlos Gesell, pionero fundador del épico pueblo balneario Argentino de Villa Gesell. A través de su testimonio reconstruirá su extraordinaria historia atravesada por los avatares del sigo XX.
Rosemarie Gesell, was the last living daughter of Carlos Gesell, pioneer founder of the epic Argentine spa town of Villa Gesell. Through her testimony, she reconstructs his extraordinary history traversed by the vicissitudes of the 20th century.

MOTIVACIÓN
La historia de Carlos Gesell me llamó la atención por el particular origen de su fundación, que él mismo impulsó atravesado por los avatares del contexto del siglo XX. A diferencia de otros pueblos y ciudades, su singularidad consistió en invertir sus capitales y su tiempo en construir una comunidad diversa e inclusiva. A mi modo de ver, marcó una diferencia que hasta hoy quedó impregnada en la cultura y el espíritu de Villa Gesell.
Me interesaba rescatar esta historia y visivilizarla desde la mirada de su última hija en vida quien fue Rosemarie Gesell. Consideré importante relatarla desde la mirada y lectura de su hija en su condición de mujer que al trabajar con él, fue participe activa de ese desarrollo urbanístico y cultura del lugar.
MOTIVATION
The story of Carlos Gesell caught my attention because of his particular way in which he founded the Villa that he promoted. Unlike other towns and cities, its uniqueness consisted in investing its capital and time in building a diverse and inclusive community crossed by the vicissitudes of the 20th century context. That made a difference that until today has remained impregnated in the culture and spirit of Villa Gesell.
I was interested in rescuing this story and making it visible from the perspective of his last daughter in life, Rosemarie Gesell. I considered important to narrate it from her point of view as a woman, that by working with him, she was an active participant in the urban development and culture of the city.
ACERCA DE MARINA ZEISING
Marina Zeising nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina, es cineasta y docente. Graduada de la carrera de Diseño de Imagen y Sonido en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, realizó el posgrado de Gestión Cultural en la Universidad de Tres de Febrero, sosteniendo una continua formación artística.
Trabaja en producción audiovisual desde hace 25 años, participando en más de 50 producciones, entre largometrajes de ficción y documentales.
Paralelamente funda su propia productora y distribuidora ACTITUD CINE con la que produjo y distribuyó sus cinco largometrajes como guionista y directora HABITARES (2014), LANTÉC CHANÁ (2017), LA LUPA (2019), CARLOS GESELL, MI PADRE (2022) y REFORMADORES (2022). También produjo y distribuyó el documental MONTENEGRO (2012) de Jorge Gaggero ganador en IDFA2011 al Mejor Documental, y las coproducciones ORO VERDE (2019) de Sergio Ghizzardi con Bélgica, el documental IMPA LA CIUDAD (2019) con Italia y el largometraje de ficción QUEQUÉN (2021) de Guillermo Gravino.
Todas sus películas fueron exhibidas en cines, Tv, plataformas de internet, centros culturales y educativos, distinguidas por organismos nacionales e internacionales. Fue invitada en 2019 por la Universidad de Georgia, Estados Unidos, a exhibir su largometraje LANTÉC CHANÁ. En 2021 vuelve a ser convocada por la Universidad de Georgia para ser analista de investigaciones académicas del Tercero Simposio Internacional de Lenguas y Culturas Indígenas de América Latina realizado en el marco de la Universidad de Ohio, Estados Unidos. Ha publicado diversos ensayos académicos y en 2021 lanzó su primer libro “Cuentos de río” con la editorial Rodolfo A. García.
Actualmente continúa con su labor docente y desarrollando nuevas producciones audiovisuales y literarias.
MARINA ZEISING I Filmography
Marina Zeising was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she is a filmmaker and teacher. She graduated from the Image and Sound Design career at the University of Buenos Aires, she completed a postgraduate degree in Cultural Management at the University of Tres de Febrero, supporting continuous artistic training.
She has been working in audiovisual production for 25 years, participating in more than 50 productions, including feature films and documentaries.
In parallel, she founded her own production and distribution company ACTITUD CINE with which she produced and distributed his five feature films as a scriptwriter and director HABITARES (2014), LANTÉC CHANÁ (2017), LA LUPA (2019), CARLOS GESELL, MI PADRE (2022) and REFORMADORES ( 2022). It also produced and distributed the documentary MONTENEGRO (2012) by Jorge Gaggero, winner at IDFA2011 for Best Documentary, and the co-productions ORO VERDE (2019) by Sergio Ghizzardi with Belgium, the documentary IMPA LA CIUDAD (2019) with Italy and the argentine fiction feature QUEQUÉN (2021) by Guillermo Gravino.
Her films were shown in cinemas, TV, internet platforms, cultural and educational centers, distinguished by national and international festivals and organizations. She was invited in 2019 by the University of Georgia, United States, to exhibit her feature film LANTÉC CHANÁ. In 2021 she is once again summoned by the University of Georgia to be an academic research analyst for the Third International Symposium on Indigenous Languages and Cultures of Latin America held within the framework of Ohio University, United States. She has published various academic essays and in 2021 she released her first book “Cuentos de río” with the Rodolfo A. García editorial.
She currently continues her teaching work and developing new audiovisual and literary productions.
